The Top Line: Fast, simple and affordable Brazilian food in a great atmosphere! Lots and Lots of flavour, and lots and lots of meat 🙂
The Review: Churrasco essentially means grilled meat (usually on a stick) in Latin American cooking. Fogo Brazilia is one of its kind, offering a warm and lively casual dining atmosphere and value for money.
I had never heard of this restaurant before but upon visiting their Website, I find out that they have locations in many popular places around Sydney including Top Ryde, Central Park, Bankstown and Bondi Junction (but only Bondi Beach and Central Park offer casual dining, whereas the others only appear in food courts).
I ordered the specialty plate (above) with 3 pieces of Margarita Chicken, choice of two sides and a piece of lightly toasted bread. Their side selections included salad, chips, potato salad and bean salad. The chicken appeared really fat and big(!) was seasoned really well, the skin had a nice light and salty crust. The three pieces were cooked on a stick over a flame grill and you can really taste some of the smoky flavour upon first tastes. Then you get to the meat which is super tender and melt in your mouth, while the juices ooze out with the remaining flavour. However, the chips were quite terrible (hard potato on the inside), make sure you definitely get the bean salad, if you’re a fan of bean salads, as this one was a-ok!
This dish here contained both lamb (left) and beef (right) – and the lamb won hands down. It was simply more tender and more juicy, even though both had excellent flavours.
