The top line: A cute cafe in the suburban streets. It’s slightly out of the way if you don’t live nearby – either a short bus ride (418) from Ashfield station or walk for ~20minutes. Would love to come back again. Wish I live in nearby or it’s located closer to the main streets of Ashfield though.
The review: Arrived at 12pm and while it may not look busy on the outside, the cafe was already bustling with people inside.
The Smoked Salmon Hash came with a nicely poached egg. The best part of the poached egg was piercing through the thin outer layer with a fork, allowing the runny yolk to seep through and find its own way through my dish. 🙂
Now onto the other parts of the dish. The smoked salmon was nicely seasoned and had a crisp outer layer. And they were very generous with the amount of potatoes. This dish had me filled up in no time.
The angus beef here was tender and juicy. And the fried spuds were super crispy yet not oily. Although I don’t think the salt was sprinkled evenly because I noticed a tiny pool of salt was just sitting on top of the spuds.
These two dishes seem to be super popular since every second table seem to have ordered either the salmon hash or the burger during our time at the cafe. 🙂
